Today’s post is not to bring you up-to-speed on these meteorological events from the beginning, but rather to continue the warning about the potentially deadly weather situation beginning to form across the infamous Tornado Alley over the coming 72 hours.

One only has to look to the news over the past few weeks to see outbreaks of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes: Tornadoes in Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, and Florida to name a few. Nationwide, the United States can expect an average of more than 1,000 tornadoes annually.

Based on the latest tornado statistics from the National Weather Service, there have been 49 tornadoes reported in the U.S. so far in 2010.
