Even the most accurate and reliable weather forecast or warning is useless if it falls on deaf ears or into still hands. Who can afford to take the chance that, with warning in hand, nothing will happen or that no action needs to be taken?

Dust storms are not inconsequential. Sudden visibility restrictions across airports or interstates can cause accidents and death. Dust sneaks into places like your car, under your window sills, into your pool, into your food.

Tornadoes ripped through the state of Oklahoma on Monday and so far have been responsible for killing at least five people and injuring at least 50 more. Once again there’s a flow from the Pacific Ocean to southern California, to the Southwest, to Texas.
