Tropical Cyclone 12P is located near 12.3S/164.1W or about 400 miles east-northeast of Pago Pago; just over 1,000 miles southeast of American Samoa.

Current sustained winds are estimated at 50 mph with gusts to 65 mph; movement to the east at 15 mph. 12P is expected to continue moving east-southeastward over the coming days, while intensifying further with sustained winds possibly reaching just over 100 mph. Possible locations affected later in the week include Bora Bora and Tahiti.
